Recharge

Updated: Dec 18, 2019

When is the last time you felt fully rejuvenated?

In our current work culture, workaholism is not just tolerated but celebrated. We’re also trained to work in the knowledge economy, meaning we act as if knowledge is produced, not discovered through reflection. But Science proves that the brain does amazing things at rest.

If you want to be an effective leader over the long haul, you need rest. And if you want your team to function at the top of their game, they need rest too.

Below are few recommendations that have direct connection on leader’s effectiveness at work and off work:

  • Sleep: Make sure you get some good sleep including power naps, it will help you recharge your body and renew your mind.

  • Routine: Waking up early and having a morning routine will maximize your creativity.

  • Exercise: Exercising even 10 min will stimulate your mind and more.

  • Hobbies: Believe it or not, having hobbies will keep your mind sharp. Avocation benefits your vocations.

  • Focus: Focus is a limited resource (4 hours on average) and you must engineer your productivity with that in mind.

Today, I invite you to think hard about what you might be missing out on and what you might gain if you take rest seriously.

Wishing you continuous success.

Your leader in hope.
