We are hardwired for compassion and success supports those who value others and cooperate. Having a cooperative view is more important than a competitive mindset to any organization's success.

Do you know the difference between Empathy and Compassion?

Empathy is understanding what another person is experiencing while compassion goes above just understanding and is actually doing something to help.

If you want to become a compassionate leader you need to develop the following skills:

  • Listening to learn about the challenge at hand which includes asking the right questions that lead you to answers that strengthen your learning.

  • Understanding to know what resources you need or options you have to address it.

  • Connecting to the resources available to act on the it

  • Acting to solve it. There is always a compassionate solution to any challenge. If you have not found one then you simply have not thought creatively enough.
